Residential Solar Rooftop Yojana 2018-19

Government of India has prepared a plan to scale-up development of Grid connected solar power under the National Solar Mission from 20,000 MW of grid-connected solar to 1 Lac MW by 2022, giving high emphasis to grid-connected Rooftop Solar Power Project. Central government has been given targets to various states to achieve this magnitude of capacity. Accordingly Gujarat sate has been given the target of 8,024 MW capacity of the Solar Energy by 2021-22 out of which 3200 MW should be from grid connected Rooftop Solar Projects. Installation of Rooftop Solar Plants on a large scale is one of the best initiatives as in such plants. There is no retirement of land, energy is consumed where it is generated , there would be no element of transmission loss or wheeling loss and such plants would be in the interest of public at large as well as State Utilities.
