Bihar state government has announced a Mukhyamantri Vridhajan Pension Yojana a universal old age pension scheme for citizens whose age above 60 years. CM of Bihar Mr. Nitish Kumar told state assembly that the scheme will come into force from the 1st April 2019. Chief Minister Mr. Nitish Kumar said, except those senior citizens who have retied from government service, all will be eligible for 400 rupees monthly pension irrespective of caste, religion or community.

Bihar government has launched Mukhyamantri Pension Yojana (MVPY) 2019 to ensure that people above 60 years of age gets monthly pension amount of Rs.400/-. The main objective of Bihar Mukhyamantri Vridhajan Pension Yojana 2019 to make all the senior citizens self reliant and to enable them to lead a life of dignity.
Eligibility for MVPY
There are the following eligibility criteria for Mukhyamantri Vridhajan Pension Yojana 2019
- Applicant should be native of Bihar
- Applicant should be more than 60 years
- Retired pension bogies are not eligible for government employee scheme
- This scheme is applicable to all citizens, regardless of their cate, religion, community and financial status

The state government of Bihar has just announced the pension scheme, application details and forms are not yet available. Implementation of the scheme will being on 1st April 2019, so the form is expected to be available at the same time.
