Rs.20 Lakh Subsidy be Provided to Set Modern Dairy Centres in Punjab – Application Form

The state government of Punjab will support setting up of modern daily centers in the state to provide standardise feed to milch animals for increasing milk production. Dairy development and Fisheries Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu said, the state government will provide subsidy of Rs.20 lakh to set modern dairy centres across state.

The minister said, Dairy centres will produce silage, which is made from green fodder and maize and a substitute to green fodder. Generally the availability of green fodder is adequate in the kharif and rabi season with the exception in October and November when farmers face acute dearth of green fodder for their milch animals. In order to tackle this difficult situation which adversely affects the milk production,the state government hass chalked out this scheme to set up modern daily service centres across the state.

The Animal Husbandry Minister said that this technique has already been developed in Punjab and many of the farmers-cum-enterprenurs are selling silge made from maize to dairy farmers of sate and also to the other states. He said that thousands of people are already operating in this business which has provide quite successful for crop diversification.
